Elite Performance Co

How the Elite Performance Co ecosystem works

By Steve McNamara, high performance and embodiment coach, Nelson NZ. Last reviewed 18 October 2026.

What is the idea behind it?

Lasting change needs two kinds of evidence: evidence your mind can see, and evidence your nervous system can feel. Most people only work on the first. The nervous system's main job is to keep you safe, and when change feels unfamiliar, it reads that as risk and pulls you back to what it knows.

That is why insight on its own rarely holds. You can understand exactly what needs to change, decide to change it, and still find yourself back in the old pattern a few weeks later. That is not a lack of discipline. It is your system doing its job (a protective threat response).

So the work here runs on two tracks at once. The first is top down: clarity on who you are becoming, what you are building and where your attention goes. The second is bottom up: breath, body and state, so your nervous system learns that the new way of operating is safe.

Everything in the ecosystem exists to build evidence on both tracks, day after day, and to make that evidence visible so you and your coach can work with what is actually happening rather than what you think is happening.

It is not a course you watch, and it is not motivation. It is a structure for doing the work, seeing the results of the work, and adjusting as you go.

What are the parts, and how do they fit together?

There are seven parts, and each one feeds the next. You start by mapping your patterns, set a clear direction, practise daily, answer questions in the app, and every 15 days that evidence becomes a snapshot with guidance. Human coaching sits around all of it.

The Behavioural Blueprint. This is where you begin. It maps how you tend to respond under pressure, where you hold back, and the patterns that keep repeating. It becomes the lens the rest of the work is read through.

The Power Script. A short statement, written in the first person, of who you are becoming and what you already have. You write it, refine it, and come back to it daily. It gives your mind a clear target instead of a vague hope.

The daily practice. Each day you work with your Power Script and your chosen practices, then open the app and answer a short set of questions about how the day actually went. Those answers are your evidence. They show what you did, not just what you intended.

The practice library. A library of breathwork, somatic and embodiment practices created by Steve and Che. This is the bottom-up side of the work: practices that help your body settle, steady and stay with change long enough for it to hold.

The 15-day snapshots. Every 15 days your answers are brought together into a snapshot of where you are. It stays the same until the next cycle. Fifteen days is long enough for real patterns to show.

The analysis and guidance. Each snapshot comes with analysis of your patterns and specific guidance on where to focus next. More on that below.

The human coaching. Steve, and in Embodied Leadership Steve and Che, coach you directly on live calls. The evidence gives those conversations something real to work with.

Take one part away and the others weaken. Practice without evidence is guesswork. Evidence without guidance is just information. Guidance without coaching misses the human read of what is going on.

What is the guidance, exactly?

The guidance is precise coaching analysis of your own evidence, with suggested focal points and practices to put into action over the next cycle. It is built from Steve's methodology and tailored to your data, not generic advice and not a pep talk.

Every 15 days, the answers you have given in the app are read against your Behavioural Blueprint. The analysis looks for what is actually happening: where you are consistent, where you pull back, what tends to show up before a hard day, and how this cycle compares with the last one.

From that comes a short set of focal points. These are the few things most worth your attention right now, chosen because your own evidence points to them. Alongside them are suggested practices from the library that suit what is showing up, whether that is a breath practice to steady your state or an embodiment practice to help a new way of operating feel normal.

The methodology behind it is Steve's: years of coaching high performers, combined with his work in identity, patterns and the nervous system. The data is yours. The guidance is where the two meet.

It is a starting point, not the final word. Your coach reads the same evidence and uses it on your calls, so the guidance and the human coaching point in the same direction. If the guidance and your lived experience disagree, that becomes the conversation.

What do I actually do, week to week?

Most days you work with your Power Script, do your chosen practice, and answer the questions in the app. Every 15 days you read your snapshot and guidance and put it into action. You also turn up to your coaching calls. It takes real work, and it does not become effortless.

Setting up. The first stretch asks the most of you. You complete the Behavioural Blueprint honestly, which takes time and some uncomfortable self-observation. You write your Power Script and refine it until it actually sounds like you. You install the app on your phone, set your reminder times, and choose the practices you will start with. Expect the first couple of weeks to feel like effort.

A typical day. You read or listen to your Power Script, ideally at the same time each day. You do a practice from the library, often a few minutes of breath or body work. At the end of the day you open the app and answer the questions about how it actually went, including the parts you would rather skip. Honest answers are what make the rest worth anything.

Every 15 days. A new snapshot arrives. You read it, take in the focal points, and decide how you will act on them. This is also when you notice what has shifted since the last cycle.

Each week. You attend your coaching calls and bring what you are noticing. Those calls are where the evidence turns into a real conversation.

Does it get easier? The mechanics do. Once your set-up is done and the daily rhythm is in place, answering the questions and doing your practice takes less thought. The work itself does not get easy, because the point is to keep meeting the edge where change happens. What changes is that you stop having to rebuild the habit from scratch every week.

If you are looking for something you can do when you feel like it, this is not it. Consistency is the work.

Where does it live?

The evidence engine is part of two programs: the EXCEL Mastery Program for men and Embodied Leadership for women. Both are 12-month evergreen masterminds, so you can join at any point. Every client in both programs works with the full engine.

EXCEL Mastery Program (men). For business owners, leaders and fathers who want to perform under pressure without losing themselves in the process. Steve coaches the group directly on live calls.

Embodied Leadership (women). A transformational leadership program for women, co-created and co-led by Steve and Che (Chetanya McNamara). Steve's focus is identity, patterns, emotional fitness and the nervous system. Che's focus is feminine leadership, business and women's empowerment. Both of them coach on live calls.

What every client works with, in both programs:

  • The Behavioural Blueprint
  • The Power Script
  • The app, with daily questions and reminders at the times you choose
  • 15-day snapshots with analysis and guidance
  • The breathwork, somatic and embodiment practice library
  • Live human coaching

The app comes as part of these programs, and as part of The 30-Day Evidence Experience, a thirty-day taste of the same engine. It is built to be used long term, so the 12-month programs are where it does its real work. Private Advisory clients use it too when it is a fit, though Steve takes on only two or three of those clients a year. It is private to the people working with Steve, and there is nothing to buy separately.

Who is it for, and who is it not for?

It is for men and women who are done with change that does not last, and who are willing to do steady work to get a different result. It is not for anyone looking for a quick fix, a hands-off app, or someone else to do the work for them.

It is likely a fit if you:

  • Already know what you want to change, but keep sliding back into old patterns
  • Perform well on the outside and feel the cost of it on the inside
  • Want honest feedback grounded in what you actually do, not just how you feel on a given day
  • Are willing to open the app and answer questions most days, including the hard ones
  • Want a coach who works with the body as well as the mind
  • Value a group of people who are doing the same work

It is likely not a fit if you:

  • Want results without daily effort
  • Prefer to dip in only when motivated
  • Are looking for therapy or treatment for a mental health condition. This is coaching. If you need clinical support, that comes first, and we can talk about timing.
  • Want a self-serve app with no human involvement
  • Are not ready to look honestly at your own patterns

For coaches and business owners who are curious. It joins a clear method, daily evidence, regular analysis and live human coaching into one structure. The value is in how the parts connect, run together over months, not weeks.

Frequently asked questions

How much time does it take each day?

Most days, a few minutes with your Power Script, a short practice and a few minutes answering questions in the app. Set-up takes more, and coaching calls are on top of that. The time is small. The consistency is the hard part.

Who writes the guidance?

The guidance is generated from Steve's coaching methodology, applied to your own answers in the app. It does not replace your coach and you cannot chat with it. Your coaching is human, on live calls.

Why do I only see my snapshot every 15 days?

Because checking yourself daily turns into noise and self-judgement. Fifteen days is long enough for real patterns to show and short enough to adjust while the work is fresh.

What if I miss a few days?

It happens. Missing days is evidence too, and it often points to exactly what needs attention. You pick up where you are, without starting over.

Do I need any experience with breathwork or embodiment?

No. The practices start simple and build over time. You do need to be willing to try them consistently, even when they feel unfamiliar.

Is this therapy?

No. It is coaching. It works with the nervous system, but it is not treatment for a mental health condition. If you are working with a health professional, keep them in the loop.

Which phones does it work on?

The app installs on your phone's home screen and works on iPhone and on Android phones, including Samsung. You add it once during set-up, then open it like any other app.
